Keil micro-vision software is an one of the easiest platform to write program for different micro-controllers. It can analyze and debug the program to check whether program is working or not. You can also check or analyze the waveform in Keil micro-vision to check your program.
I am considering that you have the basic knowledge of Keil micro-vision software and how to debug a program. To analyze a waveform, let's write a PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) program which blink the LED connected to micro-controller according to the varying waveform.
PWM is the digital waveform having duty cycle. The duty cycle of waveform can be set to see different waveforms in varying ON/OFF format. Here, I considered the ON period of 10% and OFF period of 90%. But, you can change according to you.
Now, Follow the steps to display PWM waveform in the Logic analyzer of Keil micro-vision software:-
1. Write a program producing a waveform. Example - Program(in this consideration) producing a PWM waveform.
2. Now, Save and check the errors and warning produced by the program. After no error and no warning, Debug the program to analyze your written code.
3. To open the Logic Analyzer window, Go to Menu bar -> View -> Analyzing Window -> Logic Analyzer and click on it open Logic analyzer window.
4. See the Below picture, how logical analyzer will appear. Now, click on the Setup option button of the Logic Analyzer.
5. A Setup window will appear in front. Add the signal on which you have marked the signal. Here, i have used the signal "b". You can see in the picture.
6. Now, the most important point to make waveform. In the above picture you can see that Max and Min are default and can be anything (on the right column of window).
7. Change the default value of Max and Min according to your program taken as ON and OFF values. I have taken Max value to 0x01 and Min value as 0x00. You will also have to check Hexadecimal display option(left to the Min value option and below the Color displaying option).
8. Last point, click on the Close option of the window.
9. Click on the Run option to watch waveform and if the delay is more, just click on the 'All' button in the line of the Logic Analyzer window(See the picture below).
