Samsung Launched World's First Curved display Smartphone

Samsung Electronics have released a smartphone with a curved display and a $1,000 price tag.

The Galaxy Round has a curved 5.7-inch screen using advanced display technology called organic light-emitting diode, or OLED, technology with1080p HD display; runs Android 4.3; and has Samsung's big-phone staples such as Multi Window and one-handed operation modes, just like the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 does.
The Galaxy Round has a 13-megapixel camera with autofocus and flash, plus a 2-megapixel camera up front. Also look for 1080p HD video capture, which is standard on higher-end Samsung smartphones.
It includes a 2.3GHz MSM 8974 quad-core processor, 32GB of internal storage, 3GB RAM, expandable up-to-64GB; and available with 2,800mAh battery.

Samsung said the curve will make it easier to grip. The high-end gizmo has some features that make use of the display’s curve, such as playing the next song in a music playlist by tilting the phone to the left or to the right.

The curved display is an initial step before handset makers develop smartphones with a flexible display that one day might be folded like a map, experts say.

The Korean company said such a curved screen smartphone is the first in the world. The Galaxy Round will be released only in South Korea for now.
