Students are not impervious to the world around them. Everything from the media to family to peers and school environment leaves its impact on young minds. The factors like Bullying, social isolation and depression and family problems that usually impede student performance. When these problems are left unaddressed, they can go for years and damage the person's self esteemed and performance. It is important to note that these problems won't go by their own. They need to be addressed and deal with at earliest. Deal with issues at earliest to ensure that your academic performance does not suffer.
How to deal with school problems:
1. Don't ignore the problems:- if your are facing some problems in school, don't hesitate to share with anyone who near to your socially. Identify it at earliest and take steps to handle the situation. Ignoring the problems only make it bigger and tougher for you.
2. Speak to your parents:- Your parents will never what the problems you are facing at your school, if you don't talk to them about it. Whether it is big problem or small, share day-to-day experience of your school with your loved ones.
3. Keep yourself focused on task:- You will often be faced with situation that overwhelm you and that can affect your academic performance and later your professional performance. To the best of your abilities, try to control and avoid bad feelings and focus on the task at hand.
4. Friends are important:- Sometimes when you have trouble at school or with peers, you might tend to keep away with friends. Problems even become worse, if you keep them with yourself. Sharing problems with friends can be a great support system.
5. Be Assertive:- When you have issues with peers or may be with your seniors, it is important for you to be assertive in your behavior. Being assertive means that you communicate in a manner wherein you respect the other's right, but not the cost of your own.
6. Share with your teacher or school counselor:- At times it is hard to handle a situation in school on your own. Do not be afraid to ask your teacher to intervene. It is also a good idea to approach your school counselor for help and guidance.
