Exciting and Boring Features of Samsung S4

Samsung has launched the latest Galaxy S series phone i.e. S4. It is considered their largest weapon against rivals especially Apple and other Android series smartphones in the world market. This phone is launched with much hype and buzz in New York, this month. Apart from buzz, we should find is this phone good to buy and better than other big range smartphones?

The Exciting features of S4:

1. Screen:- 4.99 inch (5 inch approx) Super Amoled screen with full 1920x1080 full HD and a pixel per inch density of 441. This can happy anyone to watch video on this smartphone. All HD TVs have the same resolution and pixels distributed over 42 to 85 inches. You will have all this wonderful visual concentrated into five inches.

2. Processor:- The 1.6 GHz Octa core processor, first time launched in any Smartphone. With intelligent power distribution by 8 cores, helps improve battery life and keeps phone cooler. All that power distribution makes this phone future ready.

3. Camera:- Samsung has added 13 Megapixel to its rear camera. Dual video conferencing is the new feature that Samsung has added on. Dual video conferencing with both front and rear cameras coming into play at the same time. Simultaneous still photos with back and front cameras also put the person taking the photo into the picture.

4. Size and weight:- It is 7.9 mm thin and weighs 130 grams. The amazing thing is that it is lighter and thinner than S3 but not as iPhone5.

5. Air view and Air gestures:- The Air view feature is one that you will definitely use most of the time. Just hover your finger over email or folder and see the content inside it. And air gestures is when you will wave your hand in the air to move to the next page or website.

6. Smart Pause:- The front camera scans your eyeballs and smart scrolls a page up and down, when you tilt your phone at the end of a page. And if you are watching a video and look away, it will pause your video till it sees your eyeballs return to the screen and start playing it again automatically.

7. Power:- With a powerful hardware and big screen, battery backup should be good enough. So, Samsung has raised the battery to 2600mAh enough to power efficiently this phone.

8. Watch On feature:- The watch-on feature works with a built-in infrared module that make it a universal remote control for everything in your room including, TV, AC, and music systems.

9. Others:- It has Knox feature that let you divide your professional life from personal life. The Group play feature lets you sync four or five S4 together to share and play music at the same time. It has got health accessories that can help you stay fit and a wireless gamepad where you insert your S4 and it becomes full fledged portable gaming machine.

Boring Features of S4:

1. Looks:- All smartphone lovers are very much conscious about their phone looks. But, i think Samsung is not. S4 is exactly similar in look to S3 and having a plastic and simple design.

2. SVoice feature:- SVoice feature is that which help an individual respond to messages through voice commands with text to speech and speech to text while driving. But, this may not work with other accents speaking than English. May only English speaking countries can take advantage of this feature.

3. No wireless charger:- It is compatible with Qi wireless charging, but does not come with wireless charger and you have to buy it separately.

4. Price:- It was launched with high price over Rs.50,000. It may not fit in everyone's pocket. So, you have to wait for sometimes until price drop below 40,000.

This smartphone has been launched with more pros and few cons setting new level for other competitive smartphones in the market. To see whether it is the best selling smartphone, we have to wait for sometime.

Buzzer interface with 8051 microcontroller

Buzzer  is a electronic device that converts the electronic signal into buzzing noise, that is applied to it. It can be used as electronic bell or as quiz buzzer in many applications around us. Here, i world like to discuss the interfacing of a small buzzer with 8051 microcontroller and how different projects can be constructed. Buzzer Interfacing: This project shows the interface with AT89S52 microcontroller to a buzzer. When a push button is pressed, the buzzer will get ON and OFF ( number of times set in the code ) and then stops. Circuit Diagram: - The port P1 of the microcontroller is connected to buzzer. This type of connection is possible, if the current requirements of the buzzer is not more than 20mA. The output is in current source mode so that buzzer will turn ON when the output of the port is logic LOW. Switch is connected to port P3 which remains at logic HIGH by pull up resistor.  Code: #include "REG52.h" #define buz P1 sbit SW=P3^0; long i...

Comparison Chart Between 8051, 8052, 8031and 8751

8051 is a popular 8-bit microcontroller and has been used in many applications since Intel introduced it. Many 8051 architecture are produced by Triscend, Intel, Atmel, Philips, Infineon (Siemens), ISSI, and Max Corp. Today, 8051 microcontrollers may not be popular but, the 8051 architecture is still popular and employed in thousands of embedded applications. This 8-bit architecture has been different segments such as 8052, 8051, 8751 and 8031 . 8052 is the super-set of 8051 and 8031 is the memory-less microcontroller hence, it has interfaced with external ROM. Whereas, 8751 chip has only 4Kbytes of on chip UV-EPROM. Everyone knows about the general 40-pin microcontroller i.e. 8051 introduced by Intel in 1980s and consists of serial communication pins, Timer, Interrupts, RAM, ROM. It has 4 ports and each port has 8 pins, total 32 pins and other 8 pins for other purposes. 8052 is the super-set of 8051 that consists of 8K bytes of internal RAM (4K in 8051), 256 by...

Different ways to generate delays in 8051

The delay length in 8051 microcontroller depends on three factors: The crystal frequency the number of clock per machine the C compiler. The original 8051 used 1/12 of the crystal oscillator frequency as one machine cycle. In other words, each machine cycle is equal to 12 clocks period of the crystal frequency connected to X1-X2 pins of 8051. To speed up the 8051, many recent versions of the 8051 have reduced the number of clocks per machine cycle from 12 to four, or even one. The frequency for the timer is always 1/12th the frequency of the crystal attached to the 8051, regardless of the 8051 version. In other words, AT89C51, DS5000, and DS89C4x0 the duration of the time to execute an instruction varies, but they all use 1/12th of the crystal's oscillator frequency for the clock source. 8051 has two different ways to generate time delay using C programming, regardless of 8051 version. The first method is simply using Loop   program function in which Delay() funct...
