The pen drive sized 'Ophelia' pocket computer based on Android

Project Ophelia is an another step in the evolution of technology by Dell Inc. They are working on a new flash drive size computer that can be inserted into HDMI port of computer or any device and allows you to run all Android apps from Google Play. It acquires the features and hardware are as follows:-
It allows you to access locally-stored files securely and direct access remote desktop.

  • It will be integrated with WiFi to access Internet, and Bluetooth to connect mouse and keyboard for easy.
  • The device is capable of downloading apps, movies and TV shows from the Google Play store in addition to playing games and streaming video.
  • There is rumor that the device will run on Android 4.1.2- Jelly Bean, but the version of Android OS has not been announced yet.
  • It will come with 8GB internal storage and more can be added through mircoSD card.
  • It is an SoC with two Cortex-A9 cores clocked at 1.6 GHz.
This device is especially built for users who mostly work in the cloud and will come with Wyse's PocketCloud software that allows users to access files stored on PCs, servers remotely or on mobile devices with right permission based on organization department, location and password, and the other feature is Cloud Client Manager, through which IT administrators will be able to remotely manage and secure devices. But, this can be securely connected to Windows based operating system only, not for Mac OS devices.

According to the announcement by the company, this device will be shipped around $100 from July on Dell's official website, and this device will be distributed to cable companies or Telecom providers to ship it with different data plans to consumer.
