Nokia is always considered the leading innovator in smartphone market. When Nokia launched low range Asha series phones, they also added new feature - 'Slam' a new way to share content over Bluetooth. The Nokia Asha 205 and Nokia 206 became the first Mobile Phones devices to include Nokia's exclusive Slam feature.
Slam technology is similar to Bluetooth that allows the user to share multimedia content with nearby friends almost instantly. But, it does not need to pair devices in range, and without the recipient needing to also have Slam. Unfortunately, it is not compatible with iOS and Windows OS based devices.
Nokia Slam has the advantage over Bluetooth devices that is being able to communicate in a very rapid with any Bluetooth terminal, simplifying the necessary operation to establish communication between the two device as required in conventional Bluetooth devices.

How does it works:
- Nokia's Slam technology does not need of paring with devices in range. It just start sending files when the devices are brought near to each other. It uses the system of detection of the proximity of the device to which the data has to be sent, and determine the strength of the Bluetooth signal for proper sharing. When two devices are brought near to each (enough to start sharing), the devices automatically transfer the files. In this case, the receiver does not necessary to have Slam feature. He can do it by Bluetooth enabled device. And if the devices were previously verified each other, then they no need to verify the connection. The device will do sharing without the permission of the user.![]() |
